“During the first hour after we awaken in the morning, our subconscious mind is more amenable to new programming than at any other time of the day. Spend your morning reading something inspirational, motivational or educational.” – Brian Tracy

Trained in Vancouver, Canada in Marketing Communications at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Dave possesses a keen interest in self-expression.

In 2010 he founded davesmorning.com, a website that aggregates “good news”; compiling inspiring, thought-provoking, educational, fascinating and entertaining stories from around the world wide web.

Since launching davesmorning.com, Dave has created three more blogs, the first two music related: daves80s.com and davesrap, and most recently, davestraveler, providing insights into his first week in Taiwan, as well as a place to share his latest photographs from abroad.

Dave’s passions include: practicing yoga, performing improv, playing sports and travel. He is an avid reader of survival literature and historical fiction, consumes a great deal of music and movies and holds an ardent interest in nutrition and natural health.

Improv requires the participant to quickly improvise and adapt to a scene with partners, without a script or any stage cues.  The focus is certainly on fun, team-work, creativity and adaptability.

Dave is currently living in the coastal city of Kaohsiung, the second largest city in Taiwan, with a population around 2.9 million.

Traveling is one of my greatest passions in life and it is my belief that living as part of a different culture is a far more enriching experience than visiting one as a tourist. When I visited Thailand in 2001, the experience stayed with me and I’ve been thinking about a similar experience, only longer, for some time.  I certainly want to be a part of something unique and extraordinary.

I have always enjoyed speaking with people from other cultures, especially using the basics of different languages I’ve learned to surprise people who also speak the language.

This trip provides insight into everyday life in another country and requires participation in an active role in something challenging and even “character building”.

-Dave
